What you should know

Sometimes called LVF, this flooring is a good mimic of wood, natural stone, or tile. Thanks to modern technology, it has available featuring that gives it more depth and dimension with a hand-scraped, wire-brushed, distressed, or antiqued appearance.

There are numerous colors, designs, species, and finishes. Imagine the look of a glossy wood floor that you see in the design pages and no more flat images that we all remember from years ago!

You also have the luxury of easy installation, because this vinyl can usually be installed right over an existing floor. The method is either glue-down or click-and-lock. It can also be cut into planks or tile-sized pieces and those seams give it even more realism.

Durability
Luxury vinyl flooring is one of the most highly recommended products for the kid’s bedroom and the playroom. It is layered and, at the top, is a clear wear sheet that protects the flooring against scratches and dents. It's impossible to "walk-off" the image.

Besides keeping it waterproof, the wear sheet also makes it highly stain resistant. Even lipstick, markers, and nail polish can be easily removed.

Sound Insulation
As long as it has a cushioned underlayment, LVF will block out noises from footsteps, beeping devices, muffled phone conversations, and more.

Comfort
It’s warm and softer and more flexible on which to stand, a big benefit for those who spend lots of time in the kitchen preparing big meals.

Waterproof
Say you’d love the look of wood in your bath. You can’t have wood, because it warps from excess water, and the bathroom is widely known as the “wettest room in the house.” Now you can have the wood look.

Easy care
Just sweep or vacuum. For more thorough cleaning, mop with water and a manufacturer-approved soap.
